A sweet solution

A fun piece from this month’s Men’s Health on sweet cravings. This was in their article on how to have a flat belly. If your cravings are more like addictions then stepping up your nutrient intake, increasing your fiber intake as well as supporting your liver will all help towards conquering your cravings. With raw food there are so many guilt free indulgences that you can enjoy. Raw food desserts are some of the yummiest desserts ever. It is amazing what you can create from fruits, nuts and seeds.

You don’t have to give up sweets to give up your  gut.

In a study of 14,000 people, Cornell scientists found that those who ate the most candy also downed the most fruit. The connection, of course is that both taste sweet. But the same amount of fruit, by weight, contains far less sugar and packs a healthy dose of belly-filling fiber. Case in point: A regular package of Skittles has 47 grams (g) of sugar, while half a cup of blueberries serves up just 8 g. Craving sweets? Try these fresh fruit substitutes instead.
